Olympia Fields Country Club, North

Olympia Fields Country Club is a Private 36 hole golf facility located in Olympia Fields, Illinois. The facility has two championship 18 -hole golf courses. The are The North Course and The South Course.

The North Course at Olympia Fields Country Club opened for play in 1923. The course was designed by Willie Park.

The U.S. Amateur will be contested over the North and South Courses. The North Course, was the site of three previous USGA championships: the 1928 U.S. Open (won by Johnny Farrell), the 1997 U.S. Senior Open (won by Graham Marsh) and the 2003 U.S. Open (won by Jim Furyk). It also hosted the 1925 and 1961 PGA Championships.

The North Course after several reworkings, is now a 7157 yard, par 70 routing over a widely varied piece of Midwestern topography. Several of the holes traverse old farmland, but the strongest holes loop around several ridges that also feature a serpentine creek that comes into play. The North Course, ranked among the top 50 golf courses in the United States, was renovated in preparation for the 2003 U.S. Open, but remains true to Willie Park's vision with testing bunkers and treacherous greens.

Par for the course is 70. From the back tees the course plays to 7,157 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,408 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 560 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 13 a par-3 that plays to 168 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 3, a 439 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at The North Course at Olympia Fields Country Club is # 13, the 168 yard par-3.
