Edgewood Golf Course is a Semi-Private, 9 hole golf course located in 5 miles southeast of Polo, Illinois.
Edgewood Golf Course first opened for play in 1962. The course was designed by Tom Bendelow and the work built by volunteers.
The 60 acers on which the course sits was Mrs. Arthue Scholl's farm. There were rolling hills, long flat areas and stately trees. Mrs Scholl sold the farm for $7,500 asking $1500 down and $750 a year until paid. Volunteers did everthing from surveying, to equipment operation for grading. The course was built on rolling terrain and features wide-open fairways. A creek, many trees, and a few ponds can effect your play. There are additional men's tee locations that can be used when playing a double loop eighteen hole round.
