This is an old traditional-style course with narrow tree-lined fairways. The greens are fairly small and fast. The terrain is very hilly. There are numerous water hazards and sand bunkers that come into play throughout the course. Established in 1916, the Woodstock Country Club is the oldest country club in McHenry Country. The course designer, Thomas Bendelow, was one of America’s most prolific golf course architects. Among his most notable legacies is the world famous Medinah #3, site of numerous prestigious events including the US Open, the Senior U.S. Open and the PGA Championship.
