Wawasee Golf & Country Club, is a Resort, 18 hole golf course located in Syracuse, Indiana, on the North shore of Indiana’s largest lake.
Wawasee Golf & Country Club first opened for play in 1910. The course was designed by Tom Bendelow. William Diddel designed the new back nine and redesigned the existing holes in 1927. The course (one of the oldest in Indiana) was renovated by H.G. Golf Properties from an 18-hole to a 9-hole par 35 regulation layout in order to accommodate a highway expansion project.
This old links-style course is well manicured and has many large, deep sand bunkers. The scenery on this course is highlighted by the beautiful, large spring-fed lake, Lake Wawasee, considered by locals as the largest in the Midwest. This hilly course is tree lined, and teeming with deer and wild geese. Water hazards that come into play. Every hole on the course has at least one sand bunker, and some have grass bunkers.
