Wapsipinicon Country Club is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in Wapsipinicon State Park, Anamosa, Iowa.
The club was formally dedicated in June 1924.
The clubhouse was built by prison labor in a three-year project. Rock for the foundation was taken from the bluffs overlooking the river and the white oak logs were hauled with horse-drawn bobsleds during the winter from trees along Buffalo Creek.
This hilly course is adjacent to the Wapsipinicon River. The river adds to the already scenic beauty of the surrounding countryside. The narrow fairways, lined by mature trees, provide for many spectacular views.
Par for the course is 33. From the back tees, the course plays to 2,393 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 2,245 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-4 that plays to 398 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 1, a par-3 that plays to 120 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 362 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 9, a 251 yard par-4.
