Parsons Golf Club is a Semi-Private, 9 hole golf course located in Parsons, Kansas.
Parsons golf course first opened for play in 1928.
This flat course features tree-lined fairways and sand bunkers guarding every green. Water hazards (a pond and a creek) come into play on two holes, and the large greens vary in undulation.
The 9-hole course at the Parsons Golf Club plays to 2,952 yards from the back tees and a par of 35.
The course sold in 2012. Along with the sale came a new name, Sterling Meadows at Parsons Golf & Fitness. After five years of loss, the property was sold.
The course closed March 31, 2007.
Russell Cole, the managing partner, said he is not sure what the buyer will do with the property. A worker at Cedarbrook Golf & Fitness in Iola said the buyer plans to use the land for cattle. Cole and his partners also own Cedarbrook.
Cole said the partners decided to sell Sterling Meadows because it wasn’t profitable.
