Old Silo Golf Club is a links-style course, with extensive bunkering throughout. The fairways are generally open and lead to large greens that vary in undulation. The course winds through rolling hills and has water in play along Somerset Creek throughout the course.

The longest hole on the course is # 18, a par-5 that plays to 574 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 14, a par-3 that plays to 157 yards from the back tees.
The course closed in 2017.
For a number of years, the course was rated the best public course in Kentucky. Starting around 2013 maintenance was cut back and the course conditioning deteriorated. The downward spiral had begone and continued to accelerate. The course closed in May, 2017.
