Chateau Golf & Country Club first opened for play in 1972. The course was designed by Frank Burandt.
Chateau Golf and Country Club in Kenner is regarded as one of the best golf courses in Louisiana. The 6,800-yard, par 72 course proves itself to be a difficult one with its strategically positioned bunkers and water hazards that come into play. The hybrid, contoured fairways and greens that differ in both size and elevation add interesting and challenging elements to the course. In 1998, Chateau Golf and Country Club underwent renovations including changing the tees and greens to Champion Bermuda grass. Also, on the club's premises is an excellent clubhouse that is host to many events such as Governor's Balls and private parties.
