Detailed description

Audubon Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in New Orleans, Louisiana.

What's old is new again. The legacy created in the course's first century of play has been enhanced by the challenge of the new Dennis Griffith-design. The layout includes 12 par 3s, four par 4s, and two par 5s, all meandering through a maze of centuries-old Oak trees. Strategically placed lagoons add difficulty to a course that received a 4-and-a-half star rating from Golf Digest. The magazine also voted Audubon one of the top public courses in Louisiana and was No. 1 in the category of "Courses Over 100 Years Old."

Audubon Park Golf Course is located just minutes from downtown New Orleans on the St. Charles Avenue streetcar line, across from Tulane University. It sits within Audubon Park and next to the world famous Audubon Zoo. Audubon Park opened in 1898 and was the site of the 1884 World's Fair. The golf course was redesgined in 2001 and reopened in October 2002

Denis Griffiths designed this amazing little course. Audubon Park plays 4,220 yards for a par of 62. The “executive course” features 12 par 3s, four par 4s, and two par 5s. The course is rated is 64.4 and it has a slope rating of 96. Audubon Park Golf Course opened in 2002. Audubon Nature Institute manages this facility.

Audubon Park golf course is a parkland with contoured fairways lined with old-growth oak trees, four lagoons and lovely landscaping. Although a "short aka executive" course the challenge is real. The 12 par 3s are all unique, and each offers a new challenge all their own. The par 4s vary in length from 282 yards to 360 yards. The two par 5s play to 462 and 471 yards respectively.

The Golf Course is located within Audubon Park at the end of Golf Club drive across from Audubon Zoo at 6500 Magazine Street between Walnut and Calhoun.
