Bayou Oaks Golf Course - North Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The North Course was also known as The Lakeside Course. The course was flooded during Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and reopened for play in 2008.
The North Course at the Bayou Oaks Golf Courses facility plsys to 6,465 yards from the back tees. Par for the course is 72. The course rating is 70.5 and the slope rating is 111.
The North Course originally opened in 1968 as a par-67, 5,700-yard layout. The North course, like the East and West Golf Courses at City Park closed when they were severely damaged because of Hurricane Katrina. The courses were under between three and eight feet of water for almost a month, resulting in the loss of all golf equipment, the greens/fairways/bunkers and significant damage to every golf building. The damage necessitated the lay off of all golf staff. They were able to reopen the golf driving range in March 2006 and the North Course in 2008 following a one year a $1.3 million restoration program.
