Bay Pointe Country Club first opened for play in 1964. The course was designed by Geoffrey Cornish.
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees the course plays to 6201 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5380 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 6, a par-5 that plays to 526 Yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 16, a par-3 that plays to 101 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 11, a 465 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 7, a 337 yard par-4.
Bay Pointe Country Club name change from Wareham Country Club in 1988 was not the only change. The same year the Pavilion was constructed, and the famous island green 7th hole was created.
Terrain is generally gentle, apart from holes #1 and #2 which challenge golfers beginning their round on the hilliest portion of the grounds.
