The Cape Club Of Sharon, previously named Spring Valley Country Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Sharon, Massachusetts. In June of 2016 Spring Valley joined The Cape Club family and was renamed the Cape Club of Sharon on January 1, 2017.
The Cape Club Of Sharon first opened for play in 1961. The course was designed by Geoffrey Cornish. The course underwent an extensive renovation in 2006 lead by renowned course architect Craig Schreiner.
The course is long and challenging with generous fairways and fast greens. Water comes into play on two holes. You need to think your way around the course.
For instance, the 2nd hole, a par-4 dogleg right, is about 400 yards. For a birdie chance, you need to drill a 220-yard drive to clear the turn. For a birdie try, you’ll have to squeeze your second between two green-side bunkers. It’s a challenging hole.
The signature hole is #8, a 360-yard, par 4, with a picture-perfect view.
#11 is a par-5 that plays from 454 to 565 yards. It is a double dogleg right with a fairway creek and a pond to the right of the green.
Watch out for # 10, a 443-yard par-4 challenge, and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at The Cape Club of Sharon is # 4, the 169 yard par-3.
