Detailed description

Ledges Municipal Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in South Hadley, Massachusetts.

Ledges Municipal Golf Course first opened for play in August 2001. The course was designed by Howard Maurer.

Located in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, near the Connecticut River, Ledges Golf Club is owned and operated by the town of South Hadley. The course offers a wide variety of holes. With a unique balance of link-styled holes, others threading through the mature woodlands of the site, and strategically placed hazards, Ledges will challenge golfers of all abilities. The rolling fairways all dogleg either right or left, and there are no straight shots, placing accuracy and club selection at a premium. The greens are small, well undulated, and quick. Many of them are protected by one or more of the course's 78 strategically placed bunkers. The layout, coupled with the spectacular views, makes for a great golf experience.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,507 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,001 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 579 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 12, a par-3 that plays to 106 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 2, a 420 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Ledges Municipal Golf Course is # 12, the short 106 yard par-3.
