Detailed description

Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Arcadia, Michigan.

Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course was designed by Warren Henderson & Rick Smith and opened in 1999.

Arcadia Bluffs is a world-class links golf course. The course is set on a bluff, offering breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. The sculptured fairways offer generous landing areas, although some can be rather tight and demanding. Large, well-undulating greens, playing very fast, increase the level of difficulty.

This is a daily-fee golf club, open to the public seven days a week, from mid-April to mid-November each year, weather permitting. The course is located in Arcadia, Michigan. There are no private memberships, and every design aspect of the facility fosters enjoyment for guests of all golfing abilities. In addition to the premier layout, guests can enjoy a full practice range and separate short-game facility. GPS-equipped golf cars are available, or you may take advantage of the caddy program.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 7,300 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5139 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 15, a par-5 that plays to 633 yards. This is also the signature hole. This sweeping dog-leg left features a narrow lay-up area, with the green perched 200 feet above Lake Michigan. The shortest hole on the course is # 17, a par-3 that plays to 176 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 8, a 486 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest at Arcadia Bluffs is # 11, a 519 yard par-5.

Wow!! Finally made it up here to one of Michigan's premier golf course....and it was worth the wait. We paid the $130 and went out (4.5hrs) on this rolling, wind swept, bunker infested Par 72 / 75.7 / 146 Links layout with five (5) tee boxes (7,300 yd - 5,024 yd)to test your golfing knowledge. The golf cart "Touch Screen" GPS (w/ fly over) was a stroke saver on managing safe passage to the greens, avoiding the 3' to 15' deep walled traps awaiting your impending arrival. My three (3) boys and myself took our turns in blasting out of these behemoths that awaited you on EVERY shot. Taking two (2) shots to get out was mostly normal if you hit the wall coming in as it would stay on the face. Having lack of rain here had hard rolling fairways / greens waiting for your shot and getting more roll than you wanted ...sometimes. We all struggled on putting the first nine (9) holes (17 - 23 putts) because of the non-typical green placements on the side of hills with breaks going every which way. The fairways were very fair in their landing areas ranging from 75 yds to 150 yds wide if you picked the right tee boxes.....we chose White at 6,389 yards and could haved moved back to the Blues (6,913 yds) on many holes. The 2nd and 3rd shots are where the traps come into play and placement areas narrowing up considerable. I played the round with the same ball and shot 48/42 w/36 putts, Jeremy 45/41 w/32 putts, Kevin 43/47 w/41 putts, Barry 58/64 w/ 39 putts and was our "Sand Trap" winner hitting 14 traps on 7 holes. I would recommend this course to anyone coming to Michigan and wanting to feel what it would be like playing in an Scotland ocean side type layout....without the plane ride. Many holes will test your focus on landing areas, wind yardages and all out carries to safe landing areas...keeping your score/mental sharpness under control. I will be back again soon and you should too.

This is golf destination site. There is a "wow" factor when you arrive and when you depart. The hotel staff is attentive to your needs throughout your stay. The lodge rooms are comfortable, clean and well designed. I am looking forward to the addition of a spa for another after golf experience.

Only issue with facility was the way they treated players on the course - having to poor beer into a plastic cup, not having a 6 pack price. I realize it's a top end course - but between a 4some it's not too much to have a 6 pack of beer for a round. They treated us like little kids claiming it was to keep the course free of cans (litter) - so what did they think the plastic cups would do? The scenery was fantastic and the evening sun on the course made the spectacular views jump out as we often paused to turn back after our shots. I will play it again in a few years.
