Katke Golf Club-Ferris State University first opened for play in 1974. The course was designed by Robert Beard.

The course is draped across a series of rolling hills, so you can expect many uneven lies. Water hazards come into play on seven holes. Wind is often a factor, so selecting the proper club becomes a large part of the game. The course is also well bunkered. 

#15, is a challenging 520-yard, par 5, featuring a double dogleg fairway with water crossing in front of the well-bunkered green.  

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,729 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,344 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 18, a par-5 that plays to 587 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 6, a par-3 that plays to 172 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 5, a 438 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 12, a 376 yard par-4.

The Clubhouse at Katke serves as a key feature for the PGA Golf Management Program at Ferris State University. The Clubhouse is the Learning Lab for the students in the program and offers a hand-on experience in golf operations. Katke's golf operation is run 100% by the students of Ferris, where they learn and apply the skills needed in golf car fleet management, tournament operations, customer relations, and golf instruction.
