Thunder Bay Golf Resort is a Resort 18 hole golf course located in Hillman, Michigan.
The Thunder Bay Golf Resort Golf Course first opened for play in 1971. The back nine opened in 1991. The course was designed by Jack Mathias.
This scenic course is quite playable and appealing for all skill levels of golfer. The course, built on rolling terrain, was carved from a mature forest. In addition, a thick cut of rough borders all the fairways. Water hazards or marshlands come into play on many holes, so shot accuracy is vital. The signature hole is #17, a 368-yard, par 4, featuring a rock ledge and a flower garden guarding the front of the elevated green.
Par for the course is 73. From the back tees the course plays to 6,677 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,004 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 15, a par-5 that plays to 572 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 18, a par-3 that plays to 124 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 310 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at the Thunder Bay Golf Resort Golf Course is # 7, a 353 yard par-4.
Superior maintenance of fairways and greens along with meticulous landscaping and gardening, and the loving care of the resort's family/staff make this a real surprise course. They offer value stay and play packages that those "on the know" say, "can't be beat."
