Detailed description

Plum Hollow Country Club is a Private 18 hole golf course located in Southfield, Michigan.

Plum Hollow Country Club opened for play in 1921. The course was designed by C. H. Allison. In 1968 golf course architect Bill Newcomb was retained to alter the greens and improve specific marshy areas. Under Newcombe's master plan, nearly all greens were greatly enlarged and sand traps were elevated to green level, and drainage problems resolved.

The Rouge River flows through this course, coming into play on eight holes. The fairways are wide but extremely hilly. All the greens are elevated, and three of them are multi-tiered. Most of the greens are well guarded by sand bunkers.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6760 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5247 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 6, a par-5 that plays to 570 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 14, a par-3 that plays to 159 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 4, a 455 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Plum Hollow Country Club is # 14, the 159 yard par-3. The signature hole is #18, a par 5. This finishing hole has a green surrounded by either sand bunkers or the river.
