Detailed description

Lakes of Taylor Golf Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Taylor, Michigan, near the Metropolitan Airport

The Lakes of Taylor Golf Club opened for play in 1995. The course was designed by Arthur Hills.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 7028 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5119 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 10, a par-5 that plays to 565 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 172 yards from the back tees.

Lakes of Taylor challenges you with three consecutive par 5's, #8, #9 and #10.

#8 is the toughest hole on the course. You need a good drive to give yourself a chance to carry the wetlands to a difficult-positioned green. A poor tee shot requires you to lay up.

#9 is another tough par 5 with a green protected sand traps.

# 11 is a par-3 with a "split" green -- where the pin could be on either side. If you hit your tee shot on the green that doesn't have the pin, you have to move your ball off and hit. The green is more than 6,000 square feet and 172 yards from the back tee and 111 yards from the shortest tee.

#17 is a par 3 with a peninsula-green. But Lakes of Taylor does. No. 17 requires a good 200-yard hit from the tee or you will be swimming in your bag for another Top Flite.

#18, one of the more beautiful holes in Southeastern Michigan, is a par 5 with a peninsula-green. The fairway has bunkers along the right and water on the left.

Watch out for # 8, a 531 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Lakes of Taylor is # 11, the 172 yard par-3.
