Glaciers Golf Course opened for play in 1993. The course was designed by Bill Newcomb. The course was closed for two years for renovation and updates, 2005-2007, by Arthur Hills.
With the Arthur Hills redesign, the course has gone from semi-private to public, from 7,009 yards to 7,224 yards in length.
Talking about the redesign, the GM for the course, Mark Tava, in a September 2007 interview said, "Pretty much from tee to green, the whole golf course was redone. As far as structures for the housing that's being put in and the housing that was already there, we changed the holes to give them a better aesthetic look from the tee and take some of the housing stuff out of play. A lot of people complained before that the housing was a little too close to the golf course, so we did a lot of small things along the property lines to deter your eye from looking at the housing and focusing more on the golf hole itself."
The course now has PGA-style large, square tee boxes and four to five sets of tees, with the forward tees at about 5,297 yards. A challenge for golfers of all levels, women and seniors will appreciate the forward tees and the course playability.
