Southern Hills Golf Course is a links-style course with large greens and tee boxes. The course is playable for all skill levels. Water hazards come into play on five holes, including #6, a 435-yard, par 4, which has a pond sitting on the right and in front of the green. The layout begins and ends with par 5's. The greens are very fast, and the narrow fairways are lined with bunkers and a thick cut of native prairie grass.

Watch out for # 6, a 435 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Southern Hills Golf Course is # 11, a 163 yard par-3.
