Designed by A.W. Tillinghast, the Rochester golf course opened in 1916.
Tillinghast's trademark design philosophy "a controlled shot to a closely guarded green is the surest test of anyone's golf", holds true at Rochester Golf & Country Club, the tight evergreen-lined fairways have extended this philosophy from tee to green. This immaculately manicured golf course winds its way through the undulating, panoramic, secluded hills on the southwest side of Rochester.
A 4-tee system at Rochester Golf & Country Club allows the course more flexibility enhancing the enjoyability and playability for all levels of golfers. The course is a par 71 for men and a par 72 for women. From the champion tees the course plays to 6,394 yards, medium tees play to 6,199 yards and ladies tees play to 5,228 yards.
