Willow Creek Golf Course is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Rochester, Minnesota. In addition to the 18 hole course is their 9 hole executive course.
Willow Creek, the eighteen hole course, was designed by William J. Spear. The course opened in 1974.
Willow Creek Golf Course is a beautiful 18 hole golf course with some of the best greens in the area. The front nine is a little more open than the back 9, which is more of a challenge with a creek and more trees coming into play. The back nine is flatter, but water hazards come into play on five holes.
Little Willow Executive 9 Hole Golf Course opened in September of 2000. The par 29 (7 par 3's & 2 par 4's) is the only executive golf course in Rochester. It is a great place to learn the game or play a fast round if you are running short of time. It is a great course to get your children interested in the game.
The course closed October, 2019
The staff was let go as the owner prepared to hand the property over to Sterling State Bank.
The clubhouse and facilities for the 18-hole course and the nine-hole executive course called Little Willow at 1700 48th St. SW. were locked up for the transition, according to owner Wendell Pittenger.
“After four years of terrible weather, we just couldn’t sustain it any longer,” said Pittenger, who built the course in 1973. “We really want to thank our employees for all their dedication and thank all of our customers. ... The party’s over. It’s really sad for me and sad for a lot of people.”
There is talk that a party is interested in purchasing the course and opening it for play in 2020.
