Detailed description

Fremont Hills Country Club is a Private 18 hole golf course located in Fremont Hills, Missouri.

The City of Fremont Hills is also home to Fremont Hills Country Club, one of the premiere golf courses in the area. The county club is the brainchild of Jack L. Engel who dreamed of building a golf course in Christian County back in the mid-1960's. In 1968 the dream began to take shape with the purchase of land and the platting of the property for the development of 9 holes. The Hood-Rich Engineering firm represented by Paul Lewis worked out the design for the first nine holes. The first homes were developed along the first hole, with Jack Engel building his personal residence on the course. As the community grew, a forward-thinking group of residents thought the subdivision should be incorporated and become a city, which happened in 1986. Additional property had also been purchased in the sixty's for a second nine holes which was designed by Press Maxwell and opened in 1987. The course is now a beautiful 18 holes with tree lined fairways, small fast greens, large sand traps, small lakes and water features, and a beautiful new club house that was expanded in 2004. The course is surrounded by large beautiful homes, and the City of Fremont Hills continues to welcome new families to enjoy a high quality of life in the Ozarks.

Par for the course is 71. From the back tees the course plays to 6,246 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4,973 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 7, a par-5 that plays to 512 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 15, a par-3 that plays to 153 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 6, a 415 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 15, the 153 yard par-3.

The gated community course winds through hundreds of mature Missouri hardwoods, offering a challenge to a wide variety of golfers. The course is fully irrigated with plush Bermuda fairways, Bent greens, and bluegrass roughs. The course has narrow fairways and small, guarded greens placing a premium on tee-shot and approach placement. Golfers off all calibers consider Fremont Hills to be one of the truest tests of golf in the area. This shotmaker's course is narrow and short. In 1993 this course hosted the Nike qualifier. The fairways are built on rolling terrain.
