Murder Rock Country Club is a public golf course located in Hollister, Missouri
The Murder Rock Golf Club opened in October of 2007. The Golf Course was designed by Landmark Land Company.
Murder Rock Golf Course is part of the Branson Creek Residential Community. Now how does a golf course is a residential community get a name like Murder Rock? Legend has it thant Murder Rock is the site where Civil War bushwhacker Alfred Bolin and his gang ambushed travelers. Of course, it's a lot safer today.
In 2010 and 2011 Murder Rock Golf Club was awarded "Best Courses You Can Play" by Golfweek Magazine and consistently continues to be one of the top 5 golf courses in the state of Missouri.
The course plays to a Par 71 and ranges in length from 6,727 yards from the Tournament Tees to 4,914 yards from the Front Tees. Murder Rock rises to plateaus where the views of the mountains dominate. With roll-up greens, the course is fairly benign considering its notorious heritage.
Course Closed 2013
The clubhouse, and the golf course that goes with it, were closed after they were purchased late in October 2013 by Big Cedar Lodge and Bass Pro Shops owner Johnny Morris.
