Neosho Municipal Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Neosho, Missouri, just 15 minutes south of Joplin.
The Neosho Municipal Golf Course is a beautiful course with two distinctively different nine-hole layouts. The original nine-hole course was constructed in 1924 by famous golf architect Perry Maxwell, who designed such golf courses as Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The front nine is relatively flat, and has water hazards coming into play on many holes. On the back nine, there are more hills and trees than on the front nine.
For a number of years this was a 27 hole facility with 3-nines, The Valley Nine, The Oaks Nine and The Lakes Nine. For reasons of budget, The Lakes Nine was closed in 2012.
