Red Lodge Golf Course first opened for play in 1983. The course was designed by Bob E. Baldock and Robert L. Baldock
In the spring of 1994, Red Lodge Mountain Resort purchased the Red Lodge Golf Course and it became the perfect business complement for the ski business.
Red Lodge Mountain Resort's 18-hole golf course is located at the base of the Beartooth Mountains, just six miles from Red Lodge Mountain Ski Resort. The course offers 5 sets of tee boxes to provide the right comfort or challenge, depending on what you seek. Mature cottonwood and poplar trees were left untouched, enhancing the beauty and challenge of the layout. The design also utilizes the property's numerous ponds and streams that wind through the course and frequently come into play. Although the fairways are forgiving, there is little margin for error due to the thick, hayfield rough, and the short game will definitely be tested by the small, firm greens. And don't forget, if you are off target, you'll be off long. The course sits at about 5,500 feet in altitude, so the balls go long. The rustic beauty and challenge of this course combine to make it eighteen holes of pure pleasure.
