Detailed description

Sleeping Buffalo Resort, is a Resort, 9 hole golf course located in Sayco, Montana.

Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs was discovered in 1922, when a man exploring for oil encountered a tremendous flow of hot mineral water at 3200 feet. Legend has it that cowboys made use of the hot water for their Saturday night baths. The hot springs name was in honor of a particular rock resembling a buffalo which signifies the staff of life for several Native American tribes including the Chippewa, Cree, Assinboine and Sioux.

The Sleeping Buffalo Resort golf course is located with the resort that features natural hot mineral pools, hotel rooms, cabins, a cafe onsite and a gift shop.

This par 3 golf course has unusual hours. The course is usually open from 3 PM until it gets dark. The course is relatively flat and wide open, and the course is excellent for walking. Water hazards come into play on three of the nine total holes. The greens are challenging, due to the subtle undulations.

This rather short par-3 course is great for working on your short game. The 9-hole par is 27 and the course plays to 1,648 yards.

Sleeping Buffalo Resort closed in 2008.
