Chappell Golf Course first opened for play in 1971. The course was designed by Frank Hummel.
The course has built up, mid-size greens surrounded by grassy mounds and long level tee areas. A number of bunkers guard the greens. Lateral water hazards come into play on the fourth and ninth holes.
The fourth fairway is unique. It is prone to a migratory hazard. It is occasionally populated with messy geese.
Par for the course is 36. From the back tees, the course plays to 3,430 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 2,845 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 560 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 4, a par-3 that plays to 160 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 7, a 555-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Chappell Golf Course is # 8, a 210 yard par-3.
