Jackrabbit Run Golf Course golf course first opened for play in 1977. The course was designed by Frank Hummel.

Jackrabbit Run Golf Course, formerly known as Grand Island Municipal Golf Course , was selected by Golf Digest as a 3-1/2 Star Award Winner of Places to Play for 2001-2002. The Omaha World Herald selected Grand Island's Municipal Golf Course as one of the top 5 Midlands Public Golf Courses.

This 18 hole Championship Course is one that any golfer will enjoy. It offers a practice facility, rental golf carts, snack bar, and a golf shop with a complete line of merchandise. A staff of P.G.A. professionals are available to answer questions and offer suggestions. Leagues, Tournaments, and Handicapping services are available through the following associations: Men's, Ladies, Seniors, and a Junior program. The course is open year round, weather permitting. Starting times are available one week in advance.
