Detailed description

Tatanka Golf Club is a resort 18-hole golf course located in Niobrara, Nebraska.

The course was designed by Paul Albanese. Tatanka opened in the fall of 2014. This northeast Nebraska destination golf course was built as an added attraction of the Ohiya Casino Resort of the Santee Sioux Nation.

Tatanka is the Dakota word for buffalo,

The layout winds through valleys, around wetland areas, and along ridges. Holes #4, a par-4, and #5, a par-3 lie on a ridge line that offers 30-40 mile views of the Nebraska countryside.

Some of the holes are routed next to buffalo grazing areas. Holes 11, 12, and 13 run adjacent to the buffalo area. Seeing the buffalos has become part of the golfing experience at Tatanka.
