Ironwood Golf & Country Club first opened for play in 1924. The course was designed by William Langford & Theodore J. Moreau. David Gill redesigned the course in 1973.
Ironwood Golf & Country Club is a classic, parkland style of layout, flat with tree lined fairways, water on a couple of holes, moderate amount of bunkering, and small to mid-sized greens. . The greens are difficult to read, and the fairways are narrow. Water comes into play on holes #5, #8, and #13. The club hosted the Nebraska Pro Am in 1992.
Ironwood Golf and Country Club is a par-72 layout that measures 6,800 yards from the tips, down to 5,800 yards from the front tees.
