Plainview Country Club

The golf course at Plainview Country Club first opened for play in 1925. The club owns and operates the adjacent campground, picnic area, and fish pond.

You'll find mostly level lies in the fairways, though there are some drops and rises. #3 and #8 are big exceptions. The dogleg 3rd, in particular, has changes in elevation. Its fairway twists and bends uphill around a tree-lined pit that runs up to the green and has fifteen-foot walls. A blind tee shot over a crest on the 8th fairway requires caution so that you don't hit into those further up the fairway. A ladder has been installed next to the tee area so golfers can check ahead before swinging.

Plainview features a water hazard coming into play on one hole, and a couple of sand bunkers on every hole. The medium-sized greens vary in undulation and have good speed. The tree-lined fairways are defined by an extremely thick cut of rough, so shot accuracy is at a premium.
