The Lakes Course first opened for play in 1993. Peter Jacobsen and John Harbottle designed the course.
Genoa Lakes Golf Resort Golf Course (formerly Sierra Nevada Golf Ranch) was carved out of an authentic cattle ranch that was homesteaded in the 1850s. This golf course is located on property three miles north of the historic towns of Genoa and Mormon Station. The site affords dramatic elevation changes and scenic vistas that complement the golf. Designed to integrate the beauty of the natural savannah desert landscape into the routing, this championship golf course features awe-inspiring 360-degree rugged mountain and lush valley views as well as exceptional variety and diversity in its golf holes mingled with indigenous wildlife and a sense of solitude and serenity.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 7,263 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,008 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 577 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 12, a par-3 that plays to 149 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 7, a 474-yard par-4 challenge, and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at The Golf Club At Genoa Lakes is # 11, a 360-yard par-4.
