Detailed description

Wildhorse Golf Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Henderson, Nevada.

Wildhorse Golf Club opened for play in 1959, and was known then as Paradise Valley Country Club. The course was redesigned in 2004 by architects Brian Curley and Lee Schmidt.

Wildhorse is considered by many to be one of the most challenging and most affordable golf courses in the las Vegas area. It was also one of the first courses to be built in the area. At one time it was owned by Howard Hughes, and it was a stop on the PGA Tour in the 1960s and '70s regularly hosting the "Sahara Invitational."

The holes at Wildhorse are varied in difficulty.

Hole #4 was named one of the "best of the best 18 holes" in town by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. It is a challenging par-3 205-yard hole is surrounded by water.

Hole #9 is known as one of the most difficult tees in Las Vegas. The par-4, 398-yard hole is all about placement. With the sand, the lake and the bunker, even the best golfers have their game cut out for them.

Hole #18 is a par 4 measuring 398 yards, which was named the toughest hole in the Las Vegas area by the staff at Vegas Golfer Magazine. Placement off the tee is a premium. Too short, and golfers face a long-iron or wood second shot into a green that is fronted by a second lake. Too long, and sand comes into play. The only bailout is to the right, but a bunker still comes into play. One of the finest, as well as toughest golf holes in Vegas, this one has golfers coming back for more.

Green tees: 6,525 yards, 71.4/136.

Gold tees: 6,037 yards, 68.6/127.

Black tees: 5,529 yards, 65.6/113.

Silver tees: 4,995 yards, 68.4/109.
