Detailed description

LakeRidge Golf Course is an 18-hole public golf course located in Reno, Nevada.

Lake Ridge opened for play in 1969. The course was designed by golf architect, Robert Trent Jones, Sr.

The course is a tribute to Jones' design style. It has rolling fairways with strategically placed bunkers. Elevated greens add interest, and well-spaced water hazards create multiple forced carries. 17 of the holes are delightful and provide you with typically nice golf, nice enough that the course has been voted as the best in Reno for ten consecutive years. As a bonus, you also get great views of Reno and the surrounding mountains. Located just 4-1/2 miles from downtown, it's also one of Reno's most accessible courses.

However, what golfers remember is Lake Ridge's signature hole, number 15. This world-class par 3 has the tee box sitting high atop a rocky ridge 140 feet above Lake Stanley. At the 15th tee, from the tips, you find yourself 140 feet above and 239-yards from the pin. Due to the drop, the hole plays 40 - 50 yards shorter. Golfers not only get a spectacular panoramic view of the Reno area but a fun and a challenging tee shot to a natural enticing island green for a truly world-class setting. If you par #15, all is right with the world and your love of golf is once again rewarded.

The course is a par-71 and 6,715 yards with plenty of water hazards to challenge any level golfer. Greens fees include a mandatory golf cart rental.

#15 at Lakeridge is worth price of admission. Hugely elevated tee shot, ball flies basically off a mountain. Great Robert Trent Jones Jr Track!

Greens were just sanded 2 days before the play... fairways were overwatered, so very soggy.. pace of play was slow due to tournament at the same time. Island green was for me only nice aspect of the course that day.

My all time favorite golf course in Reno; the 15th hole is the "apex" literally the highest point on the course and when wind is whipping a solid driver off the yellow (mens avg)tees. Island green large but intimidating at times. Course always in meticulous condition, greens fantastic but fair.

Course was in excellent condition. Staff is wonderful. We have played most of the courses in the area, and enjoyed this one more than most. Morning shotgun, well managed. Excellent pace of play. New carts with WORKING GPS units.

I always play well here. It is easy to read the fairways and greens. There are some very challenging holes. You need all clubs for this golf course, which I enjoy very much.

The only reason this course would be a destination for anyone is the hole #15 island green hole. Other than that, very average and there are a number of other courses in the area worth playing at the same price. Play it once to tackle the 15th.

Probably too early in the year to be playing here. Weather was in the 60's -- not bad for early March. But the greens condition was terrible. They need to roll them and cut them. Green speed seemed about 6 and very bumpy.
