Buckmeadow Golf Club is a Public 9 hole golf course in Amherst, New Hampshire.
The Buckmeadow Golf Course opened in 1980. The course was designed by Maurice Young.
The perimeter holes are tree-lined.
A par 33 with doglegs galore – Par 4 on the first, third (although probably should’ve been a par 3), fourth, fifth, seventh, and ninth holes. The par 3’s were the second (probably the easiest hole on the course), the sixth, and the uphill eighth.
From the back tees, it measures 2,425 yards. From the forward tees, it measures 2,280 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-4 that plays 360 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays 130 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 1, a 325-yard par-4 challenge, and the course's #1 handicap hole. You must make a long, straightaway drive and get your next shot over the pond to the green. Buckmeadow Golf Club's easiest hole is # 2, a 130-yard par-3.
The course closed in 2020. The town of Amherst purchased the land for $570,000 and plans to convert it into a recreation area with athletic fields (mainly soccer), etc.
