Detailed description

Bald Peak Colony Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Melvin Village, New Hampshire.

The Bald Peak Colony Club Golf Course opened for play in 1922. The course was designed by Donald Ross. The course was renovated in 2008 by Ron Forse.

With elevated greens, gentle sloping fairways, and stunning views in every direction, Bald Peak has become one of the most desirable courses to play in New England. Bald Peak offers multiple tee boxes designed for players of all skill levels, from the most accomplished to the occasional golfer. At 6209 yards from the Men's tee, (6264 black tees), a Golf Week course rater called Bald Peak as, "The best course in New Hampshire."

In August 1922, an International Exhibition golf match was arranged--18 holes in the morning, 18 holes in the afternoon. The players were Francis Ouimet and Jessie Guilford--American Team, and Jack Taylor and Sandy Herd-- British Team. The morning's match play was all even. In the afternoon Ouimet and Guilford won 3 and 1. Some years later, a Bald Peak member played in a foursome with Sandy Herd near London. Sandy asked the member if he knew a club in New Hampshire where every tee looked down to a beautiful lake or up to a gorgeous mountain. When the member named Bald Peak, he replied "That was it. The most beautiful golf course I played in America."
