Detailed description

New Jersey National Golf Club at the Hills is a Semi-Private 18 hole golf course located in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, nestled in the lush meadows of the Watchung Mountains.

New Jersey National golf course first opened for play in 1997. The course was designed by Roy Case.

New Jersey National is a links-style course is difficult from the back sets of tees with several carries of more than 200 yards off the tee. The greens are in excellent shape and sometimes amazingly fast. The layout is scenic, with tree-lined fairways that are fairly tight, and it runs through some hills, so there will be some uneven lies. There is one water hazard that come into play on the last hole, and sand bunkers are scattered throughout the course. If you ride, it is cart paths only, which can make for a longer day then walking.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 7,056 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,019 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 18, a par-5 that plays to 577 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 7, a par-3 that plays to 152 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 10, a 484 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at New Jersey National Golf Club is # 7, the 152 yard par-3. With a unique layout defined by distinctly different holes, New Jersey National provides golfers with a true test of golf. Each hole offers five beautifully manicured sets of tees, allowing golfers to play the course according to their abilities.
