Gene Torres Golf Course, formerly named New Mexico Highlands University Golf Course, is a Nine-hole public golf course in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
New Mexico Highlands University Golf Course first opened for play in 1958. In 2008 the course was redesigned by Jeffrey D. Brauer and renamed The Gene Torres Golf Course.
This links-style course brings a touch of Scotland to Las Vegas, New Mexico. The course is challenging and located at the base of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, also beautiful.
The signature hole is #8, a par 5 where you hit from an elevated tee, with a blind approach over two mounds to the green.
The course plays to a maximum 9-hole distance of 3077 yards from the Back (White) Tees tees with a rating of 33.7, slope of 109, and a par of 36.

Red tees(W): 36, 2660 yards rating 34.0, slope 111.
