Ballston Spa Country Club first opened for play in 1926. In 1925, Tim Thompson, a native of Scotland was hired to design a 9-hole course. The course opened for play in 1926 (6-holes) with the next 3 holes Thompson designed holes added in 1927. The back nine was added in 1965.
Playing to nines of 35-36, the back nine is the more difficult part of the course. Gordon Creek runs through the property creating water hazards on 11 holes.
Ballston Spa Country Club is semi-private. The course accepts outside play Monday-Thursday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are reserved for members and their guests, only.
