Trump Links at Ferry Point, Ferry Point Golf Course

Trump Links at Ferry Point is a public 18-hole championship golf course located in Bronx, New York, at the foot of the Whitestone Bridge abutted by the East River, St. Raymond's Cemetery and public parks. While technically public, the greens fees will likely be three times more than those of any other municipal courses in the city.

Ferry Point will offer spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline from most of its 18 holes. Ferry Point will be a nearly treeless, Irish links-style course, designed to look mature from its early years and featuring tall, flowing native grasses and dunes with teeing grounds that rise as high as 55 feet above grade.

The course had a ceremonial open in October 2014. The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus.

In 1998, Jack Nicklaus was commissioned to design the course.

The course was built on a reclaimed landfill. Actual work started in 2001. There have been countless delays and problems, but the project continued. The course turned into a 15 year project in which the city has invested US$120 million of public money to see the project through to completion.

In early 2011, following the departure of the course's original developer, Trump's company took over the Ferry Point Park and secured a 20-year lease contract to manage the course from the City of New York. The deal included Trump's commitment to spend the $10 million needed to build the 12,000-square-foot clubhouse on the treeless, 7,400-yard links-style course. Trump will pay no rent to the city at all for the first four years, and then, only $350,000 each year thereafter until the expiration of the 20-year lease.

The ribbon cutting ceremony took place on 16th October 2013 with Donald Trump, Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg and the course's designer Jack Nicklaus in attendance. The course is scheduled to open to the public in the spring of 2015.
