Thomas Carvel Country Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Pine Plains, New York.
The course first opened for play in 1968. It was designed by William Mitchell. Carvel Country Club was built by the founder of a huge soft ice cream franchise firm of the same name.
The Carvel golf course plays to 6,977 yards from the blue tees, 6,463 from the whites, and 4,979 from the reds.
The front nine has numerous water hazards that come into play on 4 holes on the front nine and three holes on the back nine.
The Club's signature hole, #7, is a challenging Par 3, with a narrow tree-lined fairway that finishes with a backdrop of the Catskill Mountains. Breathtaking views of the mountains, particularly Blackhead Mountain and Hunter Mountain, are visible from most of the back nine.
The greens are gently undulating.
