Providence Country Club Golf Course opened in 1989. The course was designed by Dan Maples. The course was redesigned by Mike Gleason in 2006.

Raleigh-based McConnell Golf purchased Providence CC in early 2016 and immediately announced it would spend the next few years providing substantial improvements around the club and renovating Providence’s golf course. Greensboro-based golf course architect Kris Spence renovated the course with work beginning in February 2018 and completed at the end of August 2018.

The course plays to a par of 72. The 7,021-yard championship layout provides a unique challenge to the accomplished golfer as well as the novice golfer.

The longest hole on the course is #3, a 576 yard par-5. The shortest hole on the course is the #6, a 189 yard par-3.

Watch out for #12 a par-5 that plays to 530 yards. This is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The par-3, 180-yard #6 is considered to be the easiest hole on the course.
