Monroe Country Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Monroe, North Carolina.
The Monroe Country Club first opened for play in 1936. Nine holes designed by Donald Ross, the other nine by Tom Jackson.
The front 9 was restored in 2008 and restoration of the back nine will be finished in 2009.
The par 5's are reachable in 2 from the white tees for long ball hitters and give up many birdies. The par 3's on the other hand can be quite a challenge. Hole #2 has a severely sloped green, #9 is a good 3-iron, #11 goes over a pond and #16 can play longer than #9 since it's uphill.
The grand Clubhouse was built in 1936 and has been renovated recently. The ballroom, with fireplaces at opposite ends and a gorgeous chandelier mid-floor can accomodate 200 people.
