Catawba Country Club golf course first opened for play in 1946. The course was designed by Donald Ross.
Catawba Country Club is conveniently located six miles south of Hickory and five miles west of Newton, North Carolina. The golf course sits on over 200 acres of picturesque piedmont Carolina landscape.
The Catawba Country Club golf course is kept in great condition and has an outstanding design. Water hazards (lakes and streams) come into play on several holes. The signature hole is #18, a par 4, requiring both an uphill tee and approach shot.
Catawba boasts a tradition of championship caliber golfing excellence. Guests are only allowed to play this course on the weekends and even then, only when accompanied by a club member.
