Detailed description

TPC at Wakefield Plantation, 27 hole private golf facility located in Wake Forest, North Carolina. The facility has the 18-hole Plantation Course and the 9-hole Regulation Practice Course.

The Plantation Course first opened for play in 2000. The course was designed by hale Irwin.

The plantation Course plays to a maximum of 7,257 yards for a course rating is 75.5 and a slope rating of 134. Par is 71.

TPC Wakefield Plantation is a full service private Country Club featuring golf, swim, tennis, fitness events for the whole family.

The par-71, 7,257-yard championship golf course was designed by Hale Irwin to fit harmoniously with its surroundings on 217 pristine acres adjacent to Falls Lake. Corridors of meticulously sculpted Bermuda fairways are framed by stately stands of towering pine trees, with numerous creeks adding to the course’s beauty – as well as its strategic diversity.

While challenging enough for the game’s up and coming professionals during the Nationwide Tour’s Rex Hospital Open, five sets of tees on each hole provide golfers of all abilities with an enjoyable golfing experience amidst the serene natural beauty of Wake County.

# 4 is a 357-yard drivable par-4 for those long ball hitters willing to take a big risk and cut the corner. A high cut over the trees provides the best opportunity to drive the well-guarded green. For most players, a well-placed fairway wood will allow a short iron shot into the green.

#6 is the 552-yard, par-5 6th, with a creek running through the middle which comes into play on the first and second shots, with two well-placed fairway bunkers framing the second shot.

#14 is a 146-yard par-3, where wind always seems to be a factor. A mid-iron to short iron is necessary depending on weather conditions, leading to a huge undulating green surrounded by bunkers on both sides.

#18 the course concludes with the dramatic 564-yard, par-5 18th hole, where a well-placed tee shot will determine whether or not players go for the green in two. If not, a pitch to a narrow green surrounded by sand traps fronted by a creek awaits the approach.

Each of the course’s 18 holes balances playability with strategy, challenge with beauty.
