Detailed description

Bully Pulpit golf course is an 18-hole public golf course located in Medora, North Dakota.

Bully Pulpit golf course first opened for play in 2004. The par-72 course was designed by Michael Hurdzan.

Located just three miles south of Medora, the Bully Pulpit is nestled within North Dakota's badlands. The features of Bully Pulpit conform to the natural landscape rather than encroaching on it. Some holes play in meadows, some in woodlands, and others follow the meandering Little Missouri River. Several holes on the back nine are built into the rugged Badlands themselves, where the restless canyon winds will test and tease the ball as it drops 200 feet from tee to fairway.

Overall the course features five different tees, ranging in length from a comfortable 4,750 total yards from the red tees to a challenging 7,166 yards at the black tees.

In 2005, Bully Pulpit was designated the best new affordable public golf course in the nation by Golf Digest. It was the first time a golf course in North Dakota won an award from Golf Digest. This distinction made the tiny town of Medora one of the top tourist attractions in the state.
