The course first opened for play in 1927. The course was designed by Stanley Thompson.
The course was built on mostly flat terrain. The fairways provide generous landing areas. Strategically placed bunkers and water hazards will punish misplaced shots.
The course has a co-located lighted driving range that has both turf and grass tees.

Watch out for # 2, a 413-yard par-4 challenge, and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 17, a 360 yard par-4.
