Mayfield Sand Ridge Club, Is a Private Club offering 36 holes of golf. The Club was formed in 2006 by the merger of the historic Mayfield Country Club (1908) with the modern gem Sand Ridge (1998). The Club offers two different 18-hole golf courses, Mayfield Golf Course and Sand Ridge Golf Course.
Sand Ridge Golf Course __________
Sand Ridge first opened for play in 1998. The course was designed by Tom Fazio.
The property contains the headwaters of both the Chagrin and Cuyahoga rivers, and has been designated as a signature wildlife sanctuary by the Audubon Society- the first Ohio course to be granted this recognition.
This lush eighteen hole course is nestled in an environmentally-protected area. A large variety of winged wildlife is abundant on this natural layout. A natural wetlands, approximately 100 feet in width divides the course. The area surrounding the golf course is undeveloped. Those who play the course remark about the course's serenity. Most of the fairways are tree lined. The greens are large and many are multi-tiered with mild undulation.
Par for the course is 72. From the Diamond tees, the course plays to 6617 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-5 that plays to 545 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 142 yards from the back tees.
Sand Ridge merged with The Mayfield Country Club in 2006 and is now half of The Mayfield Sand Ridge Club. Having two courses available to the members makes the combination adds to the desirability in the Eastern Cleveland Private Club market.
