Detailed description

Shaker Heights Country Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

The course was designed by Donald Ross, assisted by Grange "Sandy" Alves. The Shaker Heights Country Club opened for play in 1915.

This very tight course has greens that are very difficult to read. Guests are not allowed to play without the presence of a club member. The club hosted the World Championship of Women's Golf from 1981-84, and the winner were Beth Daniel, Joanne Carner (twice) and Nancy Lopez.  Carner called the course, "the toughest, and maybe the best, on the LPGA Tour."

Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,532 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,794 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 14, a par-5 that plays to 539 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 16, a par-3 that plays to 120 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 8, a 448 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 16, a 120 yard par-3.
